Obituary of Adrian Van Engelen
Peacefully with his wife, JoAnn (Strybosch, Mallick), at his side, Adrian Van Engelen, 58, of Port Franks, died suddenly Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at home.
Born April 9, 1953 in London, Ontario. Beloved son of the late Antoon and Nely Van Engelen. Cherished husband of JoAnn and much loved father of David (Jennifer), Martyn (Catherine) and Anita (Paolo) Mallick and Bryan and Marissa Van Engelen. Dear brother to Chris (Brenda), Pete (Harriet), Jack (Irma), Anita (Joe) and Anthony (Dawn). Beloved son-in-law of Harry Strybosch. Brother-in-law to Martin (Debbie), Wilma, Tony (Doreen), Harry (Tish), Joe (Myrna), Putts (Sandy) and Liz (Al). Fondly loved by his ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and greatly remembered by the farming community.
Friends and family knew Adrian for his witty remarks, his love for farming and soccer, and his enthusiasm for card games.
Friends and family will be received Friday, February 3, 2012 at the FOREST CHAPEL of DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM. The funeral will take place at St. Christopher's Catholic Church, Forest, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 4th (reception will follow). Interment will be at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, Strathroy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made to St. Christopher's Parish (building fund) or Taxandria Soccer Club would be greatly appreciated. Donations and condolences may be left online at www.denningfuneralhome.com .
