Annie* l will miss her sparkling eyes & her smirky smile. A dear Friend of mine. May she RIP* l learned many things from Annie, an independant, spunky, country loving Lady whether we were sharing comfortable times together visiting on the farm, petting her beloved kitty cat, or while wheeling her @The Village to a window, or outside, weather permitting, so she could look out at the MOther Natures & the good Lord's wonders. SHe would reminisce about the simple life growing up with the basics, how it might be tough at times, yet charishing ever minute of it. She taught me to value every modern convenience l have , even though she thought them really unnecessary. l can still she her in her little kitchen, cat on the window seat, me offering to get the water from the jugs under the table, she saying No, l'll fetch it,,, then boiling it to make us tea & a cookie or 2, of course. ALL her water got boiled on the stove, whether for doing dishes or washing her hair. It all took time, but Annie really seemed to enjoy it & never even thought of doing it any other way,,, SHe really loved all the wildlife being around, outside, and thought them her friends, unless one of the varmints tried to get into something, then that was a different matter altogether. Asked if she was ever nervous or afraid out there alone, she replied ,,,well this one time, a car was drivng by slowly,,,l thought maybe they were casing out the place, or looking to hunt? so I got the shotgun went upstairs & fired out the window,,,then they were gone! tee hee & her heart warming smirky smile* She thoroughly enjoyed, 'the boys', as she fondly referred to them, coming to visit. She had given them Permission to Hunt on her Property, after first saying NO when they'd asked. They immediately offered to Help & do repairs around the farm, if she liked. Annie thought, then replied,,,well,,, there is that old cherry tree that could come down,,, & you could repair some boards on the barn. They returned with tools the next day, did what she'd asked, a friendship was in the works, Hunting Permission Granted. She enjoyed having tea & cookies & their friendship a lot. During one of our girl only chats, l'd asked Annie if she ever had a boyfriend or thought of getting married? SHe replied, well you know l was almost engaged,a nice boy, then one day l went into Town, l was in the back seat, we drove past the store, there he was, sitting outside the store having an ice cream with another girl,,,l told him he was a 2 timer & it was off! l think it was his loss, Annie, to me, was a real keeper.
