Obituary of George Cook
At Four Counties Health Services, Newbury on Friday, June 3rd, 2011. George Leland Cook of Wardsville and formerly of West Lorne in his 91st year. Predeceased by his wife Eva (Johnston) in 2010.
Dear father of Ron Cook of West Lorne. George was the last remaining Cook sibling being predeceased by Mary Jane Archar, Matilda Cook, Jim (James) Cook, William (Bill) Cook, Charles (Jack) Cook, Agnes (Peggy) Beldom, Helen Thompson, Minnie Bergey, Albert Cook, Maizie Cook and Flora Caddogan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
George served his country during World War II as a truck runner and an artillery supplier. He also worked for Elgin County as a road grader operator for many years.
Friends may call at the RODNEY CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS on Saturday from 2-4 pm and Sunday from 2-4 pm. Funeral service will be conducted from the chapel on Monday at 3 pm. Rev Deb Dolbear-VanBilsen officiating. Interment Evergreen cemetery. West Elgin Legion Branch #221 will conduct a memorial service on Sunday at 3 pm.
