Obituary of Anna Rodey
RODEY, Mrs. Anna Jean (nee Farris)
Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospice, Sarnia, Ontario, on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at the age of 83 years. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Rodey (1980). Dear mother of Paul (Virginia) Rodey of Leamington, and John (Tracy) Rodey of Corunna. Dear sister of Janet (Fred) Trumble of Calgary, Alberta, Margaret (late Willis) Cairns of Invercairn Beach, Alan (Heather) Farris of Perth and Jim (Zona) Farris of Texarkana, Texas, and friend and sister in law Helen Rogers (nee Rodey). Cherished grandmother of Ian (Leigh-Ann), Eric, Alan, Alex, Lucas, and Samuel, and step-grandmother of Mark, Karen, and Andrew.
Anna was also held dear by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Anna was an active member of Forest United Church for many years in the United Church Women's Group, the church choir, and Lambton Presbytery. She was a sorority sister of Delta Chi Sigma, a member of Camlachie Golf and Country Club, and senior's ladies golf league of Lambton county. She enjoyed baking, bridge, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and her daily crossword puzzles. Anna enjoyed keeping active in the winter by walking at the Forest Legion, enjoyed curling, and her yearly six-week snowbird excursion to Florida with her sister. Anna loved Lake Huron and her many lifelong friendships at Invercairn Beach.
A special thank you is extended by the family for the wonderful care given by Dr. Dostaler, the palliative care staff at Bluewater Health, the staff at Thameswood Lodge in London, and St. Joseph's Hospice in Sarnia.
