Obituary of William Gale
GALE, Mr. William John "Jack"
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of William John "Jack" Gale of Forest. Peacefully at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital in his 84th year, on Thursday, March 18, 2010. Loving husband and best friend of Dorothy (Hair) for 61 years. Dearly loved father of daughters Barbara (Gary McEwen) of Algoma Mills, Joan (Clifford Smith) of Sarnia, Brenda (Jerry Rader) of Zurich, and son Terry (Mary) Gale of Lake Valley Grove. Loving Grandpa to Scott (Jodie), Jason and Darren McEwen, Jennifer and Michael (Jen) Smith, Cameron (Stephanie), Jaclyn and Deryk Rader, Peter (Ashleigh) Gale, Ashley (Rob) Wilkinson, Jodi and Stacey Gale. Great grandfather to Aidan and Lennon Smith and Donny McEwen. Jack is survived by his sisters-in-law Ruth, Marjorie and Barbara. Also by several nieces and nephews.
Jack was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Lily, sisters Noreen (Alan) McLean and Nancy (Harold) Turnbull and great grandson Liam McEwen. A life long Forest resident, Jack and Dorothy spent the past 27 years at their winter home Brook to Bay in Englewood, Florida, during the cold winter months. Jack was a former manager of Wanstead Co-op and Past President of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #176, Forest.
Family and friends may offer their condolences to the family at the FOREST CHAPEL of Denning Funeral Directors, 9 James Street South, Forest, on Sunday, March 21, 2010, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, and on Monday, March 22, 2010, from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the FOREST CHAPEL of Denning Funeral Directors, 9 James Street South, Forest, on Monday afternoon, March 22, 2010, at 1:00 pm. Rev. Joanne Macodrum officiating. Cremation has taken place with interment in the family plot at Beechwood Cemetery following the service. Memorial donations to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
