Obituary of Robert Giles

GILES At St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, July 25th, 2008. Robert Phillip Giles (Bob) of Wallacetown in his 90th year. Husband of the late Mildred (nee Purcell 1979), and longtime friend of Barb Hollingshead. Bob was a farmer and carpenter in Wallacetown and surrounding area for many years. Dear father of Leslie of Wallacetown, Dianne Hellems(Bill) of St. Thomas, and Brenda Alderton of Wallacetown. Loving grandfather of Bill Hellems Jr.(Jennifer), Sherry Hellems(John Fewer), Joanne Hibbert (Aaron), Robert Lowes(Christina), Kenneth Lowes(Danielle), Allen and John Alderton and 13 great grandchildren. Survived by his brothers Leslie (late Margaret and late Hazel) and Clifford (Ruth), brother-in-law Howard Hurdle(late Mary) and sister-in-laws Doreen Giles(late Russell), Margaret Storey(late Bill) and Isabel Gascho (Alan). Predeceased by infant son Robert Allan, parents Ernest and Kate Giles, brothers Dennis, Russell and Oliver (Millie) and sisters Phyllis Tuckey(Claude) and Mary Hurdle. Friends may call at the Rodney Chapel, 212 Furnival Rd. on Monday, July 28th, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be conducted from the chapel on Tuesday at 11 am. Pastor S.
