Obituary of Osborne Totten
With great sadness, the family advises of the passing of Osborne Ross (Sonny) Totten of London, peacefully at Parkwood Veterans Hospital on Wednesday, March 5th, 2008. Predeceased by his beloved wife Vivian (nee Doan) and his sisters Margaret Harper of Ottawa and Madeline Hainstock of Vancouver. Father of Ross and Joan Totten of London, Bill Totten of Edmonton, and special friend of Dianne Driscoll and her husband Jim of Kelowna B.C. He will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and a large extended family. Born in Forest, Ontario on December 11th, 1914, he loved his country and served it with distinction in WWII. After the war Sonny served with the federal Department of Agriculture and went on to be a successful Insurance agent and businessman in Forest. Sonny's passing will leave a void in the lives of many who were touched by his kindness and generosity. Sonny was a past Mayor of Forest; past president and life member of the Forest Legion, Br. #176 and past president of the Forest Rotary club as well as coach and supporter of many sports teams in the Forest area. The family wishes to extend their extreme gratitude to the staff of Parkwood Hospital for their caring and devotion to dad, especially in the past few weeks. A celebration of life will be held at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at Parkwood Hospital (please use parking lot #3), 801 Commissioners Rd. East, London, ON, on Friday March 7th, 2008 at 3pm with Rev. Darrell Shaule officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (2-3pm). Private interment will take place at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Veteran's Care Fund, c/o St Joseph's Health Care Foundation, or to a charity of your choice.
