So sorry to read on a woodturning channel about Bob's passing.
I have watched Bob's woodturning videos for years and it helped inspire me to make some woodturning tutorials. His warm personality came through in an authentic way. I corresponded with Bob and wished I could have actually met him.

Very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I only met Bob 3 times, the first shortly after I bought my first lathe several years ago and he drove from Forest to Bothwell to give me some much needed instruction on how to use it. The next two I drove to Forest and again got some instruction and the last time he gave me some pieces of Box elder and walnut burl he had. Still have a couple pieces of the walnut and will use it for something to remember him by.
My deepest condolences to your family.

Bob was certainly a special guy. Possessed of a rare humour, and sometimes just possessed, he touched my life in ways that still make me smile to remember them. He was a feature of my maturing years and one of the reasons that I have yet to reach full maturity. For that gift I will be forever grateful to him.
Our world is a richer place for his passing through it, which is why we feel poorer for now being without him.
Leslie and I would like the family to know that we are deeply sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear about Bob.
It seems like only a few years ago that we were sitting in the cafeteria at lunch time trying to steal Bob's french fries. Lucky for me I liked lots of vinegar since he would douse them in it to keep all the poachers away.
He will be missed.

Marlene and family, I am sorry to hear of Bob's death.
So many happy (and crazy) memories - chugging beer at the Colonial and other spots, driving with various buddies, often Leonard Murphy and/or Guy Stanley, including high speed tours down "Suicide Alley" in Grand Bend, army cadets (#2097 NLSS Cadet Corps), various hare-brained schemes and adventures.................how about seeing how FEW bites we could take to devour a submarine sandwich at the Colonial? (Bob had the record, and I think it was two bites, or possibly three.) How about that engagement ring, and the diamond popping out of it onto the floor, and we were all down on our hands and knees to find it! A genuine flood of memories here.
Yes indeed, youth is wasted on the young, and we are not yet old.

I know it is of little comfort to you but please believe me when I say that Bob's legacy will live on for a long, long time. I, and many others knew Bob through his wood turning videos. I can honestly say that while I have watched many different youtube wood turners, I literally studied Bob's videos and did so over and over. He shared his talent, his thought process, and his love for the craft and I am a better wood turner in large part thanks to him.

It has been kept with our other family treasures and will have a special place in our memorabilia. Please accept our prayers and best wishes for all his family.
