Valerie and Kevin, I'm so sorry to hear of your mother's death. She was a part of my childhood, growing up at Christ Church in Forest. My mother, Eleanor Russell, and she were good friends. I know that your mother was a war bride. I once gave her a copy of a book called Letters from Lavender Cottage that dealt with hardships during and after the war. It's hard to lose your mother, but what a good long life she had. Please accept my condolences.

My sincerest sympathy to the Lamarque family. It was over four decades ago that I made my weekly trek to her home for chanter lessons with Kevin. Joy was always there in the background as she put up with the squeaky squawking painful sound of a student piper. It was a pleasure to know her and I treasure the memories of that long ago time. May she rest in peace.
