I have thought about this for days, not knowing the right thing to say, so here goes. I feel truly blessing to have been able to spent time with Norma at Caroline's baby shower. Special thank you to Sue for making me come at the end. I think Norma & I have talked for it seemed like an hour, & even though we hadn't seen each other for years, she had been in my prayers, & we just talked like no time had even passed. It was a day that I will chairish for years to come . So thank you to the entire MacKenzie family to have allowed me to be apart of their family on that occasion ! My sincere condolences to Norma's daughter and family. Knowing Norma for the past 12 years or so, I know what a special person she was. I worked with Norma and had the greatest respect for her commitment to our children and community. It was an honour to call her a friend as well as coworkers. I visited her in the hospice in Sarnia and saw that smile one last time. She will be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To Norma's family & friends: Our hearts are saddened to hear of Norma's passing. We remember the sparkle in her eye and that engaging smile. She did so much for the Day Care at Kettle Point. Our granddaughter Layla absolutely loved Norma. Often Norma would ride the "green bus" and many times would get off the bus, welcome Layla with a bubbly greeting and help her on the bus. I unfortunately only had the pleasure of meeting Norma on one brief occasion. I don't think that I had to meet this wonderful woman to know how amazing of a person and mother she was. Jehann has been one of my best friends since highschool and has always been that positive energy everyone is drawn to. Having done such an amazing job raising a child on her own, just shows me what an amazing person she must have been. Although I don't have personal memories of Norma like some of you, I thank her for raising a great person, and a better friend. I like to think I got to know little bits of Norma, each time I looked and spoke to Jehann. So for that, I thank you.

I first met Norma when I was 15. I had the pleasure of working with her at the Day Care. I would often sit in her office and chat with her about different things that were going on in my young life. She always had a gentle word and some guidance for me. She also taught both of my sons, Ash and Austin, my niece, Raven, my lil' sis Wenonah, and my brother Jonah. Always with encouragement and praise for them. She was an amazing woman with a wonderful spirit. Thank you Norma for being there for so many.

We were deeply saddened by the news of Norma's passing... She was a beautiful and caring person... she has done so much for our young children of Kettle Point and has always provided so much for support for the parents of these children that she help nurture... she truly was an amazing person... We always enjoyed picking up our boys from daycare and she would always stop and make time to chat and share a laugh about her day's events... she also always enjoyed sharing her stories of Jehann... My thoughts are with the McKenzie family and you Jehann even though I have never met you . Your mom and I go way back to Lambton College days and our weddings . My most fondest memories of Norma was her wonderful laugh and we had a lot of them. We drifted apart over the years but never forgot one another I'm sure. I know she will be surely missed.

I knew that with Norma I could just pick up the phone and it was like we were 16 again and no time had passed. I had such a wonderful visit with her in June. We laughed so much. Such a sad time for family and friends to lose such a wonderful lady. Always a smile and friendly greeting whenever you met her. When my sister lived next door she was always that special person that watched out for her also. I was always welcome to go over next door and walk through her fabulous gardens. I was deeply saddened to learn of Norma's passing. Norma dedicated her life to our Community and our children in Kettle Point, and I am happy that I can say that she started the building blocks to my 3 children's life long learning. She was such a beautiful woman on the inside and out. I know that I can speak for my community in saying that she will be Deeply Missed! . . . I feel that I also have to say that I am honored that the family has chosen for her memorial service to be here in Kettle Point, it seems So Appropriate. Thank You. My heart is broken that such a beautiful person, both inside and out, has left us. I will always have such fond memories of our times together as neighbours in Arkona.
