I miss you every day Mom, I wish we could have that last year over again because I still have so much to ask you and to tell you how much I miss travelling with you, and how much I care. Mothers Day is coming and I would love to take you shopping again.

I think about you every day
I feel an emptiness that won't go away
Memories will sometimes fade
So I hold tightly to the ones we made
I love you and miss you, Mom

To all my Humphries' cousins, Though I was unable to make the remembrance service today, please know that my thoughts are with you at the loss of your Mom and my Aunt. When the tears have dried may you be left with happy memories of Ida. I agree with Kate, you had to love Ida's smile. Hugs to you all and my deepest sympathy on your loss. Joanne

Dear Floyd & Family I join with others who knew Ida in offering our deepest sympathy. The measure of a life well-lived is through the lives we have touched and Ida certainly touched my life. I am glad I had this opportunity to know her. Thank you for sharing with me. With care and concern Maggie

My condolences to everyone who knew and loved Grandma Humphries. She fought bravely against her illness and although she has passed on she is still watching over us and will be forever in our hearts. I wish that I had gotten to know her better. She seemed a mysterious and wonderful person to me. Love, Taylor

Hi Kathy, So sorry to hear about your mother's passing. I know this is going to be a hard time for you and your family but the best part is the memories and knowing that (Maw) as I called her is no longer in pain. I'm just a phone call away. Love Connie

Mom My mom taught me so many things so it's hard to know where to start. She was a stay at home mom which was the norm in those days but good for us. We lived in the small town of Talbotville. She was always there when we came home from school. From my Mom I learned the art of gardening, a love of nature, sewing, reading and watching the Toronto Maple Leafs on TV. We watched the last game together when the Leafs won the Stanley Cup. I also learned the gift of preserving fruits and vegetables. At the time I didn't always appreciate it as I was a teen and thought it a great waste of an afternoon. It was something I used later in life many times. When my sister moved to Bermuda I had a ready and willing travel companion in Mom; she would try just about anything. We travelled through many an airport at lightning speed to catch our next flight. She loved the window seat of the plane where she could watch the cars and houses, the clouds floating by, and the patterns of the fields way down below. She really disliked using a wheelchair in the larger airports but it got us special treatments which she later appreciated after going through the big terminals of New York and Atlanta. In Bermuda we were moved to the front of a long line in customs when we visited Joan and family. We had a tradition of going up to the Bermuda lighthouse for British tea and scones, visiting the botanical gardens to see the flowers and shopping in the shops in Hamilton along the water front. Late at night after the kids were asleep, Joan and I would get out the wine and pretty soon Mom was telling us stories. I will miss my travel companion and my avid partner in shopping. Mom could shop till I dropped many a time. The last couple of years she used her walker or we would rent a wheelchair but we checked out all the stores in White Oaks Mall. They will miss us. I love you Mom.
