Obituary of Doris Tanton

Peacefully at North Lambton Lodge in Forest on Monday, February 25th, 2013. Doris "Dorie" Ileen Tanton (The "Butter Tart Lady") of Forest at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Mac Tanton (2006). Survived by her loving daughter Joan (Ron) Edwards and predeceased by her son Dale (1975). Dorie will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Greg (Melissa), Geoff (Shelly), Tom (Debby), Todd (Kerry), Tammy (Luis) and 12 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Dorie is also survived by her sister Ruthie (Sis) Nichol of Forest, Sister-in-law Florence Vanderburg of Pickering, Sister-in-law Jean Hall of Warwick and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Ed and Jack and two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law. "Special Mom" to many. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1st, 2013 from 4-8 pm at the FOREST CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS (9 James St. South). Funeral Service will take place in the chapel on Saturday at 1:30pm with visitation preceding from 12noon-1pm. Interment to follow at Bethel Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, North Lambton Lodge Auxiliary or the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
