I am deeply saddened by the news of Gary’s sudden passing. I will always remember my Uncle Gary as a kind, wise man with a warm smile and a quietly passionate devotion to his family. When I married Ram nearly 15 years ago, Aunt Sue & Uncle Gary’s marriage stood out to me as an example of how loving and committed a couple could be. To this day, I cite it as one of the reasons I grew up to believe that it is possible to find your soul-mate at a fairly young age and to have a bond that can weather the triumphs and tragedies of life. Aunt Sue, my heart aches for you. Lori and Geoff, I know how close you were to your dad, and my thoughts are with you and your families.

Gary was at times a mentor, a father figure and always a very good brother in law who loved my sister and his kids dearly. Any time Gary gave me advice, I was sure to listen as he was a very wise man. Gary and Sue were our “parenting” role models and Karen, the kids and myself have many fond memories of the times that we spent with them. One parenting tidbit that stuck with us is: “ the hardest part of raising kids, is letting them go” 20 years later. It’s so true. We will miss you Gary. Paul, Karen, Julie, Stephen and Katherine.

As a friend of almost 60 years, I am deeply saddened by Gary’s sudden passing. I will be thinking back on all the great adventures and shared experiences we had – curling, golfing, traveling, playing bridge, and visiting. Kathy and I extend sincere condolences to all Gary’s dear family and friends. We can all look back on Gary’s life with fond memories of just a regular, straight up, really nice guy. Oh for more of those visits.
