Obituary of Doris Wanda Carrothers
Peacefully with family by her side at Bluewater Health on January 10, 2025, Doris Wanda Carrothers (formerly of Thedford) passed away at the age of 96. Doris was the cherished wife of the late Ron Carrothers for 68 wonderful years. She was the beloved daughter of the late Wilmer and Pearl McLinchey.
Proud and loving mom of Tom (Vicki), Perry (Celia), and Diane (Henry). Beloved grandma of Ashley (Patrick), Jordan (Brenden), and Tanner (Nathan); Nathan, Devin (Andrew), Taylor (Nadia), Lauren (Eric), and Meghan (Matt). Great grandma of seven great-grandchildren. Survived by her brother Dwayne (Noreen) and sister-in-law Donna. Predeceased by her brother Ken and sister-in-law Marjorie (the late Ross) Hall. Doris will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Doris was an unconditional source of love and inspiration to her family. An accomplished artist, she left her creative mark on this world through her many paintings, quilts and crafts. Doris often fondly reminisced about roller skating in Grand Bend, which she called her “happy place” and also spent many hours golfing and curling. Doris loved her community and was a long-time member of the St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Thedford. She enjoyed spending winters in the Florida sunshine and was as much a source of warmth to her loved ones.
Doris spent the last few years in retirement living and her family would like to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Landmark Village for their support and kindness.
Visitation will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church in Thedford on Saturday January 18, 2025, from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00pm. Interment to follow at Pinehill Cemetery.
In memory of Doris, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
