The Mackey Family:
Lori Mackey, family, figure skating, and farming with Ralph, these three things were her life.
She was a figure skater herself, growing up and went on to involve her own girls in the club. She was part of the executive of the club, she was a visionary of putting Parkhill Silver Blades and Parkhill Silver Edges Synchro Team on the the competitive map. Raising awareness with the parents, raising funds for competition dresses, anything really that needed to be done in the name of success, Lori was there.
Lori Mackey, a daughter, a wife, a mom and a grandma, a person taken far too soon, a person who didn't get much of a chance to enjoy retirement, to enjoy her growing family or a chance to just enjoy being herself. Life can be so unfair some times but seeing her pictures from earlier times, her smiling face, a little twinkle in her eyes [ like her Dad's] it makes it a little easier knowing she is in a better place surrounded by loved ones gone before her. Rest easy Lori, and watch over your family from above.

Lori was one of my first Parkhill Silver Blades students. It was delightful to watch her blossom into a wonderful skater and person. I was given the privilege to teach Lori and Ralph's children as well. Lori & I shared a lot of laughs, solutions to computer stuff, skating inquiries and farm life stories. Most of all we shared a passion for skating. Her enthusiasm for the sport was second to none. Ralph, Melora, Cameron, Michelle and family may your memories help you through the trying times.

Lori was such a fun person to be around on and off the ice. We grew up together on the ice and then stayed in touch later as she remained active in the skating world and at the section office. Dear Ralph, Melora, Cameron and Michelle,
Our hearts are with you at this sad time. Lori was such an amazing friend and neighbour. From our days organizing the Mom’s and Tots First Monday Group, to ringing in the Thedford-Sylvan Handbell Choir, she was always ready to lend a hand and support wherever it was needed. Her incredible ability to remember the smallest of details, absolutely anyone’s name or where they lived was remarkable. Most of all, Lori’s commitment and love for her family was always her greatest priority. Lori will surely be missed and never forgotten.

I only got to know Lori for a brief time when she came to work at Johnson's Sanitation. I knew as soon as I met her that she was a warm and caring person and was so happy to have gotten to know her in that brief period. Her, Louise and I made a great team! I so wish I had gotten to know her better.
